Arizona Water Efficiency

Arizona uses slightly less water today than in 1957 — about 7.0 million acre-feet (2017) versus 7.1 million — while its population has grown more than sixfold, according to ADWR figures. Conservation rules under the 1980 Groundwater Management Act and the conversion of farmland to urban use are major reasons.
